Reasons for us to cover New York Fashion Week here on Cooking District are few and far between. And usually involve a chef and fashion designer cooking together. But this week, the food/fashion connection was much more direct. Designer Lela Rose credited a meal at el Bulli as inspiration for her Fall 2014 collection, reinterpreting Adriŕ’s textural, intellectual, and experimental ideas about food into architectural but playful silhouettes that were both sophisticated and whimsical. As a parting gift, guests received a book of recipes advising them on which look would pair best with each of the included dishes. Check out the full collection in the above video.
