As demand for biofuels grows, so do incidents of grease theft at restaurants around the country. Yellow grease, the technical term for used cooking oil that's had food filtered out of it, is now selling around 40˘ a pound. That weighs out to almost $3 a gallon, about the same price as milk. And almost as much as gasoline.
The surging demand and consequential thefts are forcing many restaurants to store their spent fry oil indoors now. Has your restaurant been targeted by any recent grease theft?
