Step 1
1 oz • Wild Turkey 101 rye
1/2 oz • Lemon juice
3/4 oz • spiced sangria syrup • (see below)
3 dash • Peach bitters
Build on crushed ice in a highball glass & swizzle. Top with sparkling red Lambrusco (1.5 oz). Add more crushed ice. Garnish with berries in season, dehydrated lemon wheel, nutmeg, and a metal straw.
Step 2
To make spiced sangria syrup: Make a syrup from red wine and equal parts sugar, then add pineapple skins, orange and lemon peel, ginger, clove, star anise, vanilla, black pepper, cardamom, star anise, cinnamon and nutmeg. Strain the solids and store in fridge.
