Apple Turnovers

Step 1
1/2 cup • Sugar
1/4 tsp • Ground cinnamon
1/8 tsp • Ground nutmeg
1/8 tsp • Ground cloves
4 each • Medium sized tart apples
1 pkg • Puff pastry • (17.3 ounces)
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

Mix sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves in a large bowl and set aside.

Peel and core apples. Cut apples into small 1/4 inch cubes. Toss apple cubes in the sugar mixture until very well coated.
Step 2
Lightly flour your surface. Roll out each pastry sheet on a into a 12-in. square. Cut each into four separate squares.

Spoon 1/2 cup apple mixture into the center of each square. Fold over in half diagonally, press the edges to seal. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Bake at 400 for 12-16 minutes (or until golden brown).
Step 3
1 cup • Powdered sugar • 
2 tbsp • Milk
1 tsp • Vanilla extract
Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla together in a small bowl. It should be a smooth consistency. You can add more milk, if necessary to thin. Drizzle the glaze over the warm turnovers. Best if eaten warm, but can be cooled as well.
