Step 1
4 whole • Sour apples
1/2 cup • Water
1/4 cup • Granulated sugar
Pare, quarter and core apples. To a small sauce pan add apples and water. Bring to a boil, cover and reduce heat to a simmer for 20-30 minutes or until apples are tender. Add sugar and simmer until dissolved. Serve hot or cold.
Step 2

Substitute 5 tbsp. brown sugar for granulated sugar and add 1/4 tsp mace. Dash of cinnamon, dash of grated lemon rind.
