Step 1
1 qt • Half and half
4 oz • Sugar
1/2 each • vanilla bean • split 1/2 lengthwise
Scald half and half, vanilla and sugar.
Step 2
3 each • Eggs
4 oz • Sugar
1 oz • Butter
3 oz • Cornstarch
Combine eggs, sugar, and corn starch. Pour scalded half and half over egg mixture and return to heat; heat until almost boiling and thickened, remove bean, add butter.
