Southern Collard Greens

Step 1
10 slices • smoked bacon • finely chopped
2 each • sweet onions • finely chopped
Cook bacon in large pot until just about crisp. Add chopped onions and sauté for 5 minutes.
Step 2
6 cloves • garlic • finely chopped
3/4 lb • smoked ham • chopped
Add in garlic and ham and sauté for 2 minutes.
Step 3
3 containers • chicken broth • (32 oz.)
3 lb • collard greens • fresh, washed, trimmed
1/3 cup • apple cider vinegar
1 tbsp • sugar
1 tsp • salt
3/4 tsp • pepper
Stir in broth, chopped greens, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt and pepper. Cook on low heat for about 2 hours, or until tender.
