DIY Turkey Broth

This is less a recipe or a proper project, and more of a reminder. Right about now you should have a pretty hefty turkey carcass hanging about your fridge. Once you've stripped off all the meat for your leftover turkey sandwiches, don't throw away the bones — make turkey stock.

What You Need:

Turkey carcass
Vegetable scraps
1 gallon cold water

Stockpot
Skimmer
ZIplocs or jars for storage

What To Do:

Break the carcass into several pieces and place in the stockpot with any vegetable trimmings you have left over. Cover with 1 gallon cold water. Bring to a boil, then lower heat and let simmer for 5 hours, skimming occasionally. Strain and let cool. Pour into jars or ziplocs to store.
