Well, that was fast. After less than two years Sam Sifton is leaving his post to become the national editor for the Times. Like most NYT restaurant critics, he ignited a fair amount of controversy. But for some reason Sifton's reviews always seemed to stir the pot a little more violently than his predecessors' ever did.
