Restaurant Sued Because Customer Doesn't Know How to Eat Artichoke

Houston's Restaurant in Miami FL is being sued by doctor Arturo Carvjal for serving him an entire artichoke without educating him on how exactly to consume it. After consuming the entire artichoke, sharp leaves and all, Dr. Carvjal "suffered severe abdominal pain…an 'exploratory laparotomy' showed that the artichoke leaves were jammed in his 'small bowel.'" The doctor claims he had "never seen nor heard of an artichoke" and blames the restaurant for not instructing him how to safely consume it.

His lawyer said, "It takes a sophisticated diner to be familiar with the artichoke. People might think that as a doctor, he'd know how to eat one. But he was thinking it was like a food he might have eaten in his native Cuba, where you eat everything on the plate."

A spokesperson for the restaurant group replied, "What's next? Are we going to have to post warnings on our menu they shouldn't eat the bones in out barbecue ribs?"

Gotta admit I was never allowed to serve an artichoke without trimming the points off of every leaf.

A doctor who never saw a artichoke in his life before ....... should go and eat mac n'cheese instead . We all should sue doctors in general a lot more . America , the inventor of hypocrite political correctness . Well done .

Like haisoodewa, I have never served an artichoke that was not properly trimmed. That is an awful lot of fiber to choke down, must have looked like a cow chewing her cud? (sorry for the animal crack)
