Foodborne Illness Costs U.S. $152 Billion Each Year

A new study from the Produce Safety Project, a Pew Charitable Trusts initiative, reports that foodborne illness costs $152 billion in the US each year in medical care and quality of life.

The takeaway of the report is that we still have huge gaps in our nation's food safety systems that not only affect our safety, but also have a huge impact on our economy.
