Ever since the news broke last month that beer was being brewed in White House, home brewers have been clamoring for a peek at the Presidential recipe, leading to a Freedom Of Information Act request for the recipes, and thousands of signatures on a We The People petition to reveal the secrets behind the brews. This weekend Sam Kass, Assistant Chef and Senior Policy Advisor for Healthy Food Initiatives at the White House, revealed that the White House home brew team has perfected three brews: A Honey Brown Ale, a Honey Porter and a Honey Blonde, all using honey that was tapped from the first ever bee-hive on the South Lawn. "The honey gives the beer a rich aroma and a nice finish but it doesn't sweeten it. " explained Kass. He posted the
recipes for the first two along with this behind the scenes video.
