Southern Pecan Cookie Bars

Step 1
1 cup • All purpose flour • sifted
1/4 tsp • Baking powder
1/4 cup • Butter
1/3 cup • Brown Sugar • firmly packed
1/4 cup • Pecans • finely chopped
3/4 cup • Pecan halves • toasted, cooled
Confectioners sugar as needed
Sift together flour and baking powder. Cream butter and brown sugar using a whisk or electric mixture. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture and mix until mixture resembles coarse meal. Stir in 1/4 cup chopped pecans; mix well. Pat firmly into the bottom of a greased 12x8x2 inch pan. Bake in a 350F oven 10 minutes. Pour pecan topping over partially baked crust. Sprinkle with 3/4 cup chopped pecans. Arrange pecan halves over top for garnish. Let cool cut into bars and sprinkle with confectioners sugar.

2 whole • Eggs
3/4 cup • Dark Corn Syrup
1/4 cup • Brown sugar • firmly packed
2 tbsp • All purpose flour
1/2 tsp • Salt
1 tsp • Vanilla
FOR PECAN TOPPINGS:

Beat eggs until foamy. Add corn syrup, brown sugar, flour, salt and vanilla. Mix well.
