Sponge Cake

Step 1
3/4 cup • Milk
2 tbsp • Butter
Preheat oven to 350F . Grease a large loaf pan or a 10 inch tube pan.

In a saucepan over medium-low heat, combine the milk and the butter. Be sure not to boil.
Step 2
3 each • Eggs
1 1/2 cup • Sugar
1 1/2 cup • Flour
1 1/2 tsp • Baking powder
1 tsp • Vanilla extract
In a large bowl, beat eggs.

Gradually add in sugar to the eggs. Stir in the flour and baking powder.

Stir in the hot milk and butter. Beat only until combined. Stir in the vanilla.

Pour batter into your prepared pan.
Step 3
Bake at 350F for 45 to 50 minutes.

Let cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes.

Remove the cake from the pan. Cool on wire rack.
